Inside Our Furniture Factory: From Raw Timber to Finished Masterpiece

Inside Our Furniture Factory

From raw timber to finished masterpiece — a journey through craft, precision, and passion

Where Every Piece Begins

Our factory is not a production line — it is a workshop where skilled artisans and precision technology work side by side. Every piece of furniture that leaves our doors has been touched by human hands at every critical stage.

01

Timber Selection

Only FSC-certified hardwoods enter our facility. Each plank is graded by hand for grain, moisture content, and structural integrity.

02

Kiln Drying

Timber is kiln-dried to 8–10% moisture content over 2–4 weeks. This prevents warping, cracking, and joint failure for the lifetime of the piece.

03

CNC Precision Cutting

Our 5-axis CNC machines cut components to tolerances of 0.1 mm. Complex joinery profiles — dovetails, mortise-and-tenon — are machined flawlessly every time.

04

Hand Assembly

Skilled joiners assemble each piece by hand, checking squareness and fit at every stage. No automated assembly lines — only craftspeople who take pride in their work.

Technology Meets Tradition

Our factory runs a dual philosophy: where precision matters most — joints, dimensions, repeatability — we deploy the finest CNC technology available. Where character matters most — sanding, finishing, final assembly — we rely entirely on human skill.

This hybrid approach means every piece is dimensionally perfect and individually characterful. No two tables are identical, because no two pieces of wood are identical.

Our CNC suite includes three 5-axis routers, two edge-banding machines, and a dedicated dowel-insertion system — all calibrated weekly by our in-house technician.

The Finishing Process

The finish is what separates a good piece of furniture from a great one. Our finishing department is the most labour-intensive in the factory.

Step 1 — Sanding

Three progressive grits: 80, 120, then 180. Each stage removes the scratches of the last. Final hand-sanding with 240-grit raises the grain for a silky surface.

Step 2 — Staining

Water-based stains are applied by brush and wiped back by hand. This technique enhances the grain rather than masking it, producing depth that spray-only finishes cannot replicate.

Step 3 — Lacquering

Three coats of catalysed lacquer, sanded between each coat. The result is a surface that resists heat, moisture, and everyday wear while remaining repairable decades later.

Quality Control: Our 47-Point Inspection

Before any piece leaves our factory, it passes a rigorous 47-point quality inspection. Here are the critical checkpoints:

  • ✅ All joints are square to within 0.5 mm
  • ✅ No visible glue squeeze-out on finished surfaces
  • ✅ Drawer slides operate smoothly with no binding
  • ✅ Door hinges aligned and self-closing correctly
  • ✅ Finish is even with no runs, drips, or dry patches
  • ✅ All hardware is correctly torqued and flush
  • ✅ Legs are level — no rocking on a flat surface
  • ✅ Weight-load test passed (150 kg for tables)
  • ✅ Colour matches approved sample within Delta-E 2
  • ✅ Customer order specification verified line by line
